CBD oil is mostly offered as a dietary supplement. The freely available CBD oils on the market have some common characteristics, but there are also big differences between the different CBD oil drops, especially in terms of CBD content, origin and quality. Many users attach great importance to the fact that the products are of organic quality and that they are so-called full spectrum products (more on this below). CBD, short for cannabidiol, is one of the cannabinoids in the hemp plant, but it should not be confused with the more popular substance known as THC.
Legal sale of CBD oil containing less than 0.2% THC While THC is psychoactive (eg in drugs), CBD oil in most cases positively affects the well-being and health of users. CBD drops available for sale may contain only up to 0.2% THC (otherwise they are not declared as a dietary supplement, but as medicines). Cannabis has been cultivated for 10,000 years, but not all cannabis is the same. One can distinguish between different varieties of this plant. CBD oil is obtained from a specially bred cannabisvariety, the so-called female "Cannabis Sativa L", which is a high-quality industrial cannabis variety with a high CBD content and (almost) no THC. The CBD oil is later pressed from the seeds of this plant in an oil mill. CBD oil can be bought in different concentrations, e.g. 5 % as with the best selling Gift of Nature CBD oil. There is also CBD oil with 8 % and CBD paste with 16 % or even 30 % CBD content. Depending on the disease, a special concentration is chosen and thus an appropriate product. In the meantime it is even possible to purchase CBD products for animals, such as the products of "MY LOVELY PETS" which are distributed via the BioCBD online store. Let's keep in mind: CBD oil is freely available for sale, made from high-quality industrial hemp and does not make you high - quite the opposite: CBD oil is said to have a whole range of health-promoting effects! You can find out more in the section below.
CBD oil is used by many people because of its health-promoting effects. The spectrum of applications ranges from prevention to alleviation of serious diseases such as cancer or Parkinson's disease. The calming effect of CBD oil is widely known, which is why it is used by many users to make it easier to fall asleep or simply to relax. It is also useful for everyday stress, because many customers use CBD oil to improve their well-being.
Others buy CBD oil drops with the aim of relieving various pains, mainly chronic pain or migraine. These users usually use more highly concentrated CBD products, such as CBD paste with 16% or 30% CBD content, which can be purchased from the certified operator of the BioCBD online shop. It has been said above that CBD does not have an intoxicating effect - one can nevertheless speak of a psychoactive effect of CBD oil, namely a positive one; many customers also use CBD oil drops successfully against anxiety disorder or panic attacks. Some of the more serious diseases where CBD oil can relieve symptoms include Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and even cancer. However, it should also be mentioned here that there are a few diseases where CBD products could worsen the condition according to some studies. This includes, for example, glaucoma (optic nerve damage due to increased intraocular pressure), in which many users experience a reduction in intraocular pressure, while in isolated cases there may be an increase. Furthermore, pregnant women are generally discouraged from taking CBD, as CBD oil could have a negative effect on placental hormone.
CBD oil is available on the market in several forms, e.g. as so-called CBD isolate or as full spectrum CBD. CBD isolate is a synthetically produced product containing pure CBD. However, most CBD users prefer completely natural full-spectrum products because they contain not only pure CBD but a whole range of other natural products that further enhance the health-promoting effects of CBD oil. In addition to CBD, these include other cannabinoids such as CBN, CBL or CBCVA as well as another group of health-promoting substances called terpenes. Among the terpenes with a medical effect contained in the full spectrum CBD oil are alpha-pinenes (anti-inflammatory), beta-caryophyllenes (alleviation of intestinal inflammation, irritable bowel syndrome), limonene (against skin irritations and possibly cancer) and myrcene (calming and anti-inflammatory). Only cold pressed CBD products contain all health-promoting substances. Now you have to be careful again, because all full spectrum oils are not equal. The manufacturing process also plays a key role in the quality of CBD drops. In addition to their medically valuable properties, terpenes share another property: they evaporate very quickly, even at slightly elevated temperatures - and high temperatures are required in the classic process to extract CBD oil. Therefore, take special care to buy CBD drops that are cold-pressed, as only these contain the valuable terpenes! Since full spectrum oil is a natural product, it goes without saying that BioCBD oil (in the best case with an organic certificate, as is the case with "Gift of Nature" CBD oil from BioCBD) is preferable to other products in terms of quality and purity.
The question of the legal situation around cannabis, THC and CBD is one of the most frequently asked questions, which is perfectly understandable - after all, nobody wants to accidentally buy "drugs". As briefly mentioned above, over-the-counter CBD products may not contain more than 0.2% THC. According to § 2(3) of the German Medicines Act, CBD products that meet this requirement are declared as food supplements. The problem with regard to the legal situation is therefore not the CBD content, since this cannabinoid is not psychologically active, but rather the THC content of the products. CBD products can be legally purchased in Germany as long as the THC content does not exceed 0.2 %. Products with a THC content of more than 0.2 % are also legal in Germany, but cannot be sold freely. These are mostly products that are used for serious illnesses and are classified as drugs due to their THC content.
As usual, such products are also subject to the Medicines Act, i.e. they are subject to prescription and can only be purchased in pharmacies. In some countries in Europe there are other THC maximum values, which is why the THC content has to be taken into account especially when buying CBD OiL in foreign online shops, especially for foreign products. In Switzerland, for example, the legally permitted THC content is significantly higher than in Germany, at 1%.
As described above, the legal situation in Germany is relatively clear. But what do you have to consider if you want to take your CBD oil with you across the border to (EU) foreign countries? As already indicated above, there is no Europe-wide legal regulation to date; not even in the EU is there a uniform regulation. For example, the permitted THC content in Austria is currently 0.3 %, slightly above the limit applicable in Germany.
In general one can say that there should be no problems within the EU when travelling with CBD products in view of the current legal situation. It should also be possible to travel within the Schengen area with CBD-containing food supplements and cosmetic products, although it is advisable to carry a description of the product (if not in the national language, then at least in English). Nevertheless, it is better to be cautious, as the regulations in the individual countries could change at any time. Before travelling (especially to a non-EU country), be sure to inform the embassy. It can become more problematic when travelling to a non-EU country, as in many countries there is no clear legal situation with regard to CBD-containing products, but there are much stricter drug laws and penalties. In any case, it is advisable to check with the authorities in the country of destination, such as the embassy, before departure, for the current legislation on CBD.
CBD products declared as medicines can of course only be purchased in pharmacies (see above). Since CBD products with a THC content of less than 0.2 % are freely available for sale, they can be bought in shops and organic shops, but of course also in various online shops. The online giants recently banned all products with CBD from their platform without giving any reasons. So when you buy over the Internet, you need to look out for other stores and be careful; always make sure you buy from a trusted store (e.g. a certified supplier) where you can find European CBD products with a THC content of 0.2% or less, such as BioCBD, where you can continue to buy the organic certified Amazon bestseller "Gift of Nature" CBD oil drops with 5% or 8% CBD.
The Organic CBD Oil 5% drops of "Nature's Gift" were bestsellers on Amazon Caution should also be exercised when, for example, products with a very high CBD content can be purchased at relatively low prices in some online shops in the Czech Republic. Here, either the CBD content is improved a lot, or it must be a low quality CBD from abroad. Ideally the supplier and the product should have a certificate. As mentioned above, in Switzerland, for example, the THC content is five times higher than in Germany (1% THC) - so be careful when ordering from Switzerland via an online store. The bottom line is to check the THC content of the products before buying them online. If you want to go one step further and ensure that you get the highest quality products with maximum effect, you should also make sure that you buy cold-pressed full-spectrum organic CBD products (see above) made from organic hemp. If you want to buy such CBD oil, you will also find it on BioCBD.
